The Project

Full teardown-to-reinstall rack relocation for a national moving and storage company. When the client vacated a facility in Wind Gap, PA, Hammerhead repurposed the existing racking for reinstallation at a 436,000 sq ft building in South Brunswick, NJ, delivering 19,807 pallet positions at four and five levels high in a 36-foot clear warehouse.

The Challenge

Reusing the Wind Gap racking meant engineering and permitting a system built from used materials with no structural calculations available from the original installation. The full package had to be re-engineered for the new building, permitted in South Brunswick, and installed in time for the client's busy end-of-year storage season.

The Outcome

Hammerhead produced new engineering for the relocated system, secured permits, and fielded a large installation crew to hit the deadline. The finished installation delivered 19,807 pallet positions with wire decking and pallet support bars, post and row-end protection, wire guidance for turret trucks, and egress tunnels through the long rack rows. The system passed inspection and was approved for use ahead of the client's peak season, completed in five weeks.
